I've been saying for years that you don't need to be good at Healing to be in the Yellows. It's merely where your interest lies. I actually think there are Yellows who are only average at Healing and have to strain to Heal a broken arm. Consider that Anaiya is Blue but is a good healer... she doesn't want to be Yellow. There are probably weak healers in the Yellows who have adept political skill, but they're not interested in being Blue. The ajah isn't their permanent occupation or even their identity really - it's where they live and who their friends are, and what their attitude towards the Power is.
I hold the same position, but you would think it would take more than a modicum of that skill. How can someone TRULY hold Healing to be paramount in importance and be unable to do it? How is a person supposed to resolve that dichotomy of thinking something is great and wonderful and important, but they suck at it? I would think such a person could find better things to do with her life than hanging around like some sort of pathetic Yellow-groupie. It would be like letting a burned-out woman still call herself Aes Sedai and hang around the Tower. Her mind is the same, after all...
Furthermore, if that whole "fixing things" mentality was TRULY a part of the Yellow, why was Romanda so pressed for a rationale to take charge of the embassy to the Black Tower? Either that is NOT the Yellows' mentality, and just an interpretation of Sanderson, or else the Salidar crew has the worst Yellows.

You need to hate men to be a Red - that's hardly more trivial than if you like to fix things.
Yeah, that's according to everyone but the Reds. The hating men is a RESULT of being in the Reds, just like arrogance is a result of being in the Yellows.

Because Nynaeve is rarely right about anything. Between Egwene and Nynaeve, Egwene got all the brains. Nynaeve is just emotion that you need to aim. Nynaeve stubbornly believes in her stupid herbs but not only are they greatly inferior even to the meanest Healing, but they probably don't work AT ALL.
Ah, so she's Healing herself when she takes them? And as for Nynaeve being emotional and intuitive, she is more often right with her feelings and hunches than Egwene is by any reasoning. Egwene lacks both Nynaeve's inuitive...wisdom for lack of a better term, and true intellectual ability. What she does have is good instincts and a nose for opportunity. Egwene makes the most of things and recognizes cirucmstances without thinking about them. She doesn't have the pure rational faculties to reason things out.

It was a passing comment with no weight from Egwene. Besides, you don't know how the Tower has changed. Perhaps forkroot has created some interest in herbs.
Hence, food. The point is, why such associations. She sees food and thinks "medicine." Is she the idiot or Sanderson?

Or instead of Healing the injured all day she's a normal person with hobbies, like growing plants.
True dat. But Egwene equates it with Nynaeve's professional interests. So, wrong again.

Or more likely Egwene entered the room and saw lots of plants, so her mind jumped to healing Herbs because she was in the room of the LEADER OF THE AJAH.
So, because she's in the Healing Ajah, her "food" must therefore be "medicine"?

The scene can be summarized as...
- Egwene notices things and keeps them to herself.

Furtive and sneaky
- Suana has hobbies.

To which Egwene attributes odd significance.
