Effing Semirhage.
I actually kind of liked that Cadsuane "broke" her, but at the same time, I was very unawed by the way that went down. I didn't like that the forsaken stories all went blurblurblurblar in this book. I don't understand how Demandred and Mesaana can basically remain complete non-entities after 12 books. I was fairly excited about Graendal until she winked out. Well.... that was disappointing. Slightly chilling plot-device, yes. Graendal-worthy story-telling? Hmpf. Maybe I'm just asking too much.
Um, Gawyn finally made a decision, but I didn't like that just when Mat, Rand and Perrin were finally starting to grow up and accept responsibilities in their ways, and I thought we were finally rid of that whole "Stupid girl doesn't know what she's gotten herself into, so I will goget myself killed save her from the evil [insert something bad]!" role, Gawyn decided to jump right back into it.
I had my usual annoyance with Rand and the steel thing, but B.Sand forgot to call a warder (or aiel!) stone-faced. I can manage. I did like that Rand's evil was progressing in this book and then came to a point.... however sort of weird and not what I expected kind of a point that was.
Aes sedai behavior towards Nynaeve and Egwene didn't annoy me. Am used to it. Even though they were surprised by the Seanchan attack, I'm finding their lack of abilities to be quite unrealistic. I get being scared, but I would have been like fireballfireballfireballfireballfireball!! Bring me one of those flying rats so I can blast it!! fireballfireballfireballfireballfireball!!

There were wards on the door to get in (which Gateways kinda invalidate).

It's at least consistent Forsaken idiocy, considering what we saw before...
