On page 345 while LTT is rambling in Rand's head he mentions that he had to use something to touch the Dark One to seal him away (thus the taint on the OP). What if this time around Rand uses the DO's power to touch him and seal him away? Sorry if it's been mentioned before, but I found it to be kinda interesting.

I believe that both halves of the the source are needed to seal the DO away. It was originally only male channelers (LT mentions that the women wouldn't help him). By only using saidin, the prison wasn't completed and left flawed allowing the DO to taint saidin before being sealed away.

This is only my opinion. I could be way off of course. Going on basic memory.
