Semirhage's blood transfusion weave randfandom Send a noteboard - 30/11/2009 07:04:24 PM
Semirhage delivers some great one liners in this book. They can go down in our archive of cool quotes :) We couldn't expect less from the Lady of Pain though :)

1. TGS (A Tale of Blood) - "I had one survive an entire hour after the transfusion... I count it as one of my greatest victories. He was in pain the whole time, of course. True pain, agony that he could feel in every vein of his body, right down to the near-invisible ones in his fingers. I know of no other way to bring such suffering to every part of the body at once... I will show you the weave some day."

Wasn't this what she did to Rand? Not actually replacing his blood, but giving him the sensation of the weave when he was wearing the male a'dam. That was my impression from the description.

I wonder if this weave can be used for actual Healing, namely blood transfusion. Arthurian legends say that Sir Galahad brought the Holy Grail to the Fisher King and thus healed his wound (which was affecting the land). Much like Rand really, whose character is partly based on the Fisher King legend. Galad is Rand's only (or at least nearest) blood relative, and Rand's wounds have been corrupting his blood. Could they use that weave to replace the corrupted blood with blood from Galad? Of course, there is no one left to teach that weave now, so not too likely, but an interesting connection...
