It would indeed most likely mean that the final confrontation is just between Rand and the DO. Considering the Prophecies and what RJ said on this topic, I don't think that is so unlikely.
I agree that the final confrontation will be between Rand and the DO, but I think Rand will directly deal with Moridin (and likely Demandred too) at an earlier point in TG. Anything less would come across as somewhat anticlimactic in my view, which isn't to say it isn't possible.
