These two spent a significant amount of time together. How could Alanna not suspect Verin as BA? Could Alanna be BA as well? She does act rather oddly most of the time.
They're obviously very good at hiding in plain sight. And what exactly could Verin be doing to tip Alanna off? Murdering and torturing puppies? She can get away with just about anything and claim it's her own business. She could meet Darkfriends and call them her personal eyes and ears.
There's no reason to think Alanna would be tipped off. Verin worked hard to cultivate a reputation as a dreamy and vague Brown. That's in addition to the customary Aes Sedai prohibition to stay out of other sister's plans.
