Also, think of the way Aes Sedai recruit. Fanatic-Templar Send a noteboard - 04/12/2009 01:17:37 AM
Or, more accurately, the way they don't.

Generally speaking, the only people who become Aes Sedai are those who choose to go to the White Tower. Now, why do you think most people would want to undertake that journey? The position of Aes Sedai promises power, authority, influence, respect and three times the normal human lifespan. There are obviously any number of other reasons to join, from protecting the world from the Shadow or male channelers, to learning the secrets held only by the White Tower, but those are certainly influential incentives to joining the Tower.

Now, look at the Forsaken, and other Darkfriends. What brought them to the Shadow? What do they expect to gain from serving Shai'tan? Revenge, power, authority, influence, respect through fear, and immortality.

There's an obvious overlap there.

I see no reason to believe Kari was a Darkfriend. Ishamael is a liar, and that's that. - 04/12/2009 01:19:00 AM 789 Views
