Egwene, on the other hand, is just a young, not that strong channeler, who served in a tavern before, as the daughter of a little village's mayor. Ok, she made experiences, like being damane or under the Aiel, which hardened her, and she is a Dreamer, but that doesn't really explain, how she can easily outsmart almost all AS, IMO.
Well she's very strong for a woman, but I get your point. I think one thing that's overlooked about Egwene is that RJ probably made her the only person from the 3rd Age who is strong in all five Powers. This means that she has a great affinity for everything. It's not mind-blowing like Nynaeve's Healing Talent, or Elayne's ability to make ter'angreal, but she is basically the most skilled woman alive.
As for political finesse, she's shown ambition second to none. Almost all the Emonds Fielders wanted to go home at some stage, but she is rabid in her desire to make something grand from her life. She's learned about every subject voraciously, and she's become adept at most Aes Sedai fields of expertise.
I agree that it's her skill/affinity for all 5 powers that make her exceptional in the world of channelers. And her drive makes her interesting to me... I get a little tired of the whining of some of the others. Just suck it up already and move forward!
