They all benefit from the pattern. Elayne could have died many times in her battle for the Crown, and seemed to use Min's viewing as a statement "I cannot die." CF Clare, who has similar certainty. Each assumption is probably wrong.

She's probably right in that, actually. But admittedly, she's brave to the point of recklessness, which can be disastrous for a queen in certain circumstances.
Elayne does not strike me as bright. She is better educated than most, and this helps. But knowledge is not intelligence. She certainly tries hard, means well and gets there in the end. But she is no Moiraine.

She seems to pick things up rather rapidly, and other than some things to which her privileged education has blinded her, is perceptive and quick to puzzle things out. Seems rather bright to me. Of course, the way RJ writes, nearly all characters seem to have a gift for observing people, catching subtle non-verbal reactions, and the like, and tend to interpret those correctly except when misled by completely wrong assumptions or information (e.g. Perrin's and Faile's reactions to Morgase early on).
And the whole "Rand cannot give me the Lion Throne" is a bit much. Firstly, whoever gets it does so because of him. He got rid of Rahvin. Secondly, TG is coming, so it seems like fiddling when Rome is about to burn.

Yeah, you would think that Rand's personal friends at least would rank TG and his fight as high or higher in their priority list than their personal business, but none of them seem to. Then again, it's sometimes justified: if the Andorans believe that Rand gave Elayne the throne, it makes it all but impossible for her to have her country united and pacified in time to fight in TG. Egwene's focus on reuniting the Tower is also rather justified, considering how many problems originated in the split (her wanting to be queen of the world and insisting on "guiding" rather than supporting Rand is a different story, of course).
Still, I do love her. All the more in HP's body. The point being that even the DO himself in HP would be fine by me. (In your case, DO in Galadriel? I can do that too.)

*lol* No surprise there. :P
Padme is very switched on. Naivete comes from believing that the enemy follows rules. In SW, all that "Imperial senate" blabber while the Sith rapidly sets the galaxy upon itself. I see Egwene's views on Gawyn, Rand, Siuan as naive and risky.

I'll grant you Gawyn, but then the girl hasn't exactly had much romantic experience, give her a break. ;) Her views on Rand are not what they should be, and do irritate me, but naive? It's not naive to think the Tower should lead the Dragon or that Rand would allow it, so much as it is arrogant and self-centered. As for Siuan, I'm not sure what you're talking about...
Also, Padme is a genuine warrior, as is Egwene. Elayne-Clare (E-Clare?) are effective, but not stellar.

Fair enough.
