"Tar" is almost certainly related to the "Tar" in "Tarmon Gaidon" (I'm not attempting to put in the absurd apostrophes that appear to have no grammatical or pronunciation function). Beyond that, "Valon" could mean almost anything.
Political correctness is the pettiest form of casuistry.
