He could have an alter-ego or he could have been operating under his true name the entire time in a pocket dimension from whence the Seanchan got their creatures; we really don't know and the RAFO card is definitely a dodge of the question.

Maybe he went to such a pocket dimension or alternate reality, posed as the actual Dragon Reborn and will come with alternate versions of the protagonists against Rand?
