There has been some speculation here that Rand and company will have to use the TP to actually touch the DO during the LB in order to prevent the same backlash that caused the taint on Saidin.
The problem with that idea is that regardless of whether it is even possible or not, it feels very unlike the themes Robert Jordan has developed for the series. I needn't remind you that 'using evil to fight evil' is essentially the principle which turned Aridhol into Shadar Logoth. I do believe that it is quite apparent that Robert Jordan does not intend this to be the path to victory.
Also, our best evidence to date suggests that the True Power can only be obtained at Shai'tan's whim, and while I know of the argument according to which Rand is capable of obtaining it through Moridin, it is certainly not enough of a certainty to be basing arguments on it. The entire issue is moot if Rand used the True Power at Shai'tan's volition, because it would certainly not favour the use of it against itself.
