As above, they don't. redqueen Send a noteboard - 25/12/2009 06:06:28 PM
There was a post about this in the old forum. We worked out that the a'dam was more of a compulsion device than a dedicated linking device, since with a link, one person has to lead and that person is the only one who channels. Sul'dam and damane seem to waver between the two. Though a sul'dam with enough experience and control can control the damane's weaves so well that it looks as though she is doing the channeling herself, she isn't. The weaves, and the Power, still come from the damane.

Sul'dam can allow their damane to channel more-or-less freely, or they can control the weaving completely, or anything in between. But there's no reason why a damane cannot show another a weave. Where did people get that idea?

What lies did Leanne tell? Really, there's no reason to dismiss a redemptive arc for Elaida. - 16/12/2009 10:48:09 PM 1009 Views

You're forgetting that Egwene, Nynaeve and Elayne didn't "break" Moghedien. - 17/12/2009 07:48:14 PM 472 Views
good point. I agree on the difficulty of learning from the damane *NM* - 17/12/2009 06:20:51 AM 267 Views
