I want to purchase an entire set of the WOT series (only hardcover) and am having a hard time finding a decent set.


Check amazon private sellers - you should be able to get almost all in hardcover new or nearly so for ~$10 each including shipping.

I have hardcover books but with three readers at home some are still in poor shape. The binding is not great on the hardcovers. Most are signed copies so can't be replaced though...


I'd lock those up and get new ones just to read. Your devaluing something that is going to be worth money someday.
