Re: The death of Cadsuane Datakim Send a noteboard - 03/01/2010 10:09:58 PM

How do we know that Cadsuane doesn't have a ter'angreal protecting her from TP attacks? I seem to remember she gained a few without knowing their uses so there is a slight possibility she has said ter'angreal without knowing it. The old channeler she got them from obviously found them from a stasis box. Now whoever commissioned/created the ter'angreal suit in the AoL was most certainly fighting in the War of Power. Whoever owned the ter'angreal suit was a proficient channeler and would have come across/or heard of the TP: therefore taking defense against TP in mind while constructing the ter'angreal suit.

Of course this is all speculation, but the likelihood of Caddy owning a OP defender is the same as her owning a TP defender, since both would have been prevalent in the life a super AS/Forsaken--who would be facing Forsaken/super AS with the equipment (s)he was packing.

Obviously we dont, but it seems highly unlikely.

The TP was a very rare type of power that was wielded by only the forsaken and even then only in great need. Ishamael is the only one we know of that uses it regularly and everyone calls him mad for that. TP was so rare infact that no one in the current age even seems to know of its existence (other than the forsaken and ltt/rand).

Given that, and the fact that BS said that the Far Madding guardian does not offer TP protection, we would have to believe that someone who should barely know that TP existed, and who would think that the DO was sealed and the forsaken dealt with, took the time and effort to develop a special TP blocking ter'angreal and construct it, without even having a TP channeler to test it against.

Cadsuane's ornaments have been called deus ex machina before, but giving her a TP repelling ter'angreal would just be utterly ridicilous.
