I started a reread of the series in November, wanting to refresh the plot in my mind before progressing to TGS. I forgot how much these middle books drag though 
I am finishing up LoC right now, which was actually an easier read than TFoH, which really took a lot for me to get through. At that point though, I didn't have TGS yet...now I do, and I'm itching to read it. And I seem to remember from my first time reading the series that things do pick up again at some point.

A better idea would be to skip to tGS, because you won't want to wait for it.
