what is scarier than balefire is the fact that people down here in BFE think that the president is the "dark one". cos you know, it couldn't have been anyone like, oh i dunno, stalin. the color of his skin indicates total innocence.

i also have trouble with these assumptions when, during our town's christmas parade, i see a group of black-robed, amulet-wearing weirdos prancing down main street and no one is giving them a second glance. totally normal. and we're worried about the freaking president?! ha!

as far as i can tell, the president has about as much real power as egwene circa LoC, yet these backwater fools are crapping their pants thinking dude is gonna drag us into some spiritual abyss. god i need to move. like, out of the entire country. every day down here is like living an episode of "squidbillies".
