There's an old Aiel saying..... Jeordam Send a noteboard - 12/01/2010 05:45:41 PM
2. Evil but necessary. You do what you need to, to survive. You can always say sorry later.

That you do what you have to do, and then pay for it. Rand did what he had to do, even if going to the Dark One for power was what he needed to do. I very much think that this Dark Aura that's seen out of the corner of people's eyes is as a result of touching the True Power. How much more....noticed is Rand. If naming the Dark One draws his attention, how much more when you go up to him and are all "Please sir, I'd like some more."

Here's the thing though...I'm going to go out on a limb and say that him touching the True Power was not a one time thing. You know when he's going to do it again?

In sealing the prison on the Dark One.

While the battle is raging and Rand is battling down to the pit itself, he's gonna use Saidin like normal and whatever. But when it comes to actually sealing the Dark One's prison back up, he's gonna switch over to the True Power. The Dark One cannot taint what is, by its very nature, already tainted. So the channeling world is safe from another Breaking.

This has agreeable semitry by the fact that the Dark One's prison is then sealed up with, well something of the Dark One himself. His own power is his prison. With this then there is no reliance on a patch composed of something different, but instead it is more of the same. If the True Power is used to seal up the prison, then there is no patch. The Dark One's prison is made whole. Remember when Herid Fel spoke of something along the lines of at some time the prison had to be whole. The reason being is that Lanfear didn't bore through a patch.
