Cuendillar can pass through a gateway, as far as we know. It can't be cut by a gateway, it is pushed out of the way. If someone opened up a gateway, and the shoved a cuendillar doorframe inside of it in such a way that it was unable to close because the doorway keeps it open, then those doorways could be placed in rooms and other places. Tying it off would probably work as well, although the advantage of the doorway is if you brushed up against the edge, you wouldn't get cut.
You can channel through a gateway. After leaving the Kin's Farm in PoD (I think) after the Bowl of the Winds, Avi throws fireballs through the gateway at attacking Seanchan.
