She was willing to die to protect Rand as early as Book 1, risked being destroyed in T'A'R to gather information in other books and was willing to die again for the cause of uniting the Tower in the last three books.
As much as I like Egwene, I think what makes her so powerful is not bravery as much as her sense of invulnerability. Egwene doesn't believe she can be harmed or killed, and she's ignorant of the true danger she's in. That's why she's always the one to get collared, hit on the head with a rock, half-killed by Lanfear, captured etc. She's very bad at assessing danger, so she rushes in where angels fear to tread. Luckily she's very powerful as a channeler, or I think she'd be roadkill by now.
Elayne is the one who keeps getting half-killed by rocks, forkrooted, captured by the BA in her own Capital, sneaking out of the palace at night with Aviendha etc...
Egwene's also finally had an epiphany at the end of TGS, she finally seems to get that there is a good reason an Amyrlin can't run around without the Hall's permission.
Domani Drag Queen in the White Tower ... Aran'gar watch out!
Who is the bravest WOT character -- a soldier willing to sacrifice the most for their own cause?

I'd say there are only two serious candidates, and one clear winner

Can totally get behind Tuon for that scene. Bornhold's a boring fanatic, though. *NM*
