Re: In her defense, she has no way of getting in contact with him

Whats to stop Egwene from traveling to Elayne and using her bond with Rand to track him down?
Well, she has no clue about the bond, so why would she think to do this? Even those who know something about it have no clue about Elayne's role. Birgitte is the only person outside that bond who knows of it, and given the danger it represents to Elayne, I doubt she would reveal it even under torture. I thought that the reason Elayne and Aviendha did not travel to the cleansing, was because they were worried that Rand would think they were attacking and strike at them. And Aviendha was correct in this.
That was one of several reasons, including they might create a fatal distraction or disrupt whatever was going on and all of those reasonings are still valid. Elayne has no way of knowing what Rand is doing - a decision to go visit him could have dropped her into the middle of either fight with Semirhage, or the Trolloc attack, the attack on Graendal, meeting with Hurin, approaching Ituralde, or a bubble of evil. However that would hardly apply in a normal situation where Rand&Co are not performing a huge channeling task and expecting attack from the forsaken. There might be wards to detect "unauthorised" traveling around Rands camp, but I very much doubt the first reaction of the AS/Asha'man would be to attack in a peacefull situation. Especially once they see its a pregnant woman.
How are they supposed to see that? She is not showing as far as she has been mentioned, and in any event, she could just as easily pop in during a danger situation or tense moment as a period of respite.Or what about using Need? I cannot see much more important than "Needing" to find Rand to warn him about black ajah that could assassinate him at any moment. Egwene is skilled in dreaming and could locate Rand's position that way. Or she could try and contact Nynaeve's dreams and warn her, since she knows that Nynaeve is with Rand. She has done that before.
She hasn't had any luck with that as of CoT. IIRC, Nynaeve is avoiding contact with her. And what can need tell her? She might Need to know where Rand is, but how can she be sure what he is up to or what she will be intruding on, or if the most prominent Traveller in the world will still be there when she leaves Tel'Aran'Rhiod to Travel to his location. She could wake to find the few seconds since she located him in Tel'Aran'Rhiod translated into several hours in the Real World (as happened to Elayne in WH), and Rand is long gone. Or what abou the wise ones? Egwene could contact them and they could warn Rand. Elayne knows that the Aiel (including the WO) left to join Rand afterall.
Politics. She doesn't want to expose any shameful things about the Tower to the Wise Ones who already have a low opinion of the Aes Sedai. They might just take it upon themselves to see justice done, and Egwene is emphatically opposed to anyone, no matter who justified acting against Aes Sedai in such a unilateral manner.Or Egwene could find the dreams of other of Rand's allies such as Bashere or such and transmit a message that way.
How could she identify & use the dreams of such people when she has never met them and knows nothing of where they are in proximity to Rand? Egwene could easily contact Rand with just a little time and effort, if she thought it worth it. But apparently she does not consider warning the Dragon Reborn important.
Well, he's not Egwene after all, to be making friends with them, and chatting in his tent late at night with them, and letting them massage him. Rand can handle himself and really doesn't need her help. Not that I disagree that SOME indication she was interested in helping would be most welcome. I agree with everything Datakim said. Egwene could find Rand if she wanted to. In tGS, Tam said" You've been sending nonstop messengers too all the great cities these last few days, telling them to marshal their armies for was. I thin a man would have to be blind, deaf and drunk not to know where to find you."
Surely with the resources of TV at her command, she could find Rand if she thought that it was a priority to warn the DR about the Black Ajah.
I was wrong about Egwene.
