Presumably, Rand will find a way to seal up the Dark One for 6 Ages. LTT only managed 1 Age. That's a biggie.

Rand Cleansed saidin, whereas LTT did something that led to its Taint, and the devastating consequences that followed. Another biggie.

Rand hasn't murdered his entire family!!! Another biggie (especially to his family!)

Of course, if you're just going to judge the issue by channeling prowess, then of course LTT will come out ahead. He learned during a time when male channeling skills had already been developing for close to an Age, and he had hundreds of thousands of colleagues to learn from, and their skills to build upon. Rand, on the other hand, has had exactly 3 people to learn from - LTT, Asmodean, and Taim. Not to mention, LTT spent (presumably) a few hundred years learning and honing his craft - Rand has spent a whopping two years.

Cut the guy some slack, for Pete's sake!!!
