She was Rand's adoptive mother, but Kari didn't play a role in the story. She had neither a POV, dialogue or any actual screentime. By the time we first meet Rand, she had apparently been dead for most of his life.

We know more about Tigraine, Rand's biological mother, than we do Kari.
