Even if your pattern theory is correct, given the fact that Semmy died in TGS, the pattern was followed and didnt require Graendal's death to occur.

therefore the pattern does not "determine" whether Graendal died. That doesnt meant it loses all weight. it just isnt conclusive. It is supportive.
