Not how I learned about it. Fanatic-Templar Send a noteboard - 22/03/2010 12:46:10 AM
Words are indeed "things" that hang in the air. Matter, sound, light etc are all energy. All "things" that are erased by balefire. My argument against balefire is that that dying yell would have been burned out. So either RJ goofed or it was not balefire :p

To my (somewhat unqualified, admittedly) knowledge, sound does not hang, but travels through matter, which would presumably be why we have concepts such as the speed of sound, or echo (and echolocation). If sound were not in movement, but idly remaining in suspension, as the term 'hanging' indicates would be the case here, I doubt it would be sound. Then again, I may be wrong, I confess it is not a question I ever thought to ask, but certainly it would not be something that occurs naturally, which brings us back to my questions: How did Asmodean hang his words in the air, what knocked them down (as they stopped hanging afterwards, otherwise they would surely have been found) and what were they hanging from?

The first rule of being a ninja is "do no harm". Unless you intend to do harm, then do lots of harm.
