I agree on all your points, and you are probably right we should not be overly critical. It is just immensely irritating to me when blatant errors are in these otherwise highly consistent books. I find myself stopping and inventing some auxiliary hypothesis as to why various situations have been described as they have. It can't be helped, I guess.

Also, I agree with you that whatever Sanderson does, he must get the chaotic, subjective feel of the battles and fights right. That is the soul of the battles in WoT - but he probably knows that very well already. Everyone cannot have personal experience of soldiering, of course, but I do hope that Sanderson can manage to tone down his superhero style of fighting that we have seen in the Mistborn-books, and aim a bit more for the chaos Jordan showed us. In many ways, I feel that Sanderson writes fights and action sequences quite well, but I also feel that he tends toward the "cinematic" a bit too much. And also, most of his characters that we see fight have had enhanced powers of various kinds, and that may have reflected in the narration, with the description slipping to much toward the omniscient point of view.

By the way, I strongly believe they would do well to hire you and Linda as fact/continuity/thematicity-checkers of, say, the second-to-last drafts of the forthcoming books. A final fine-combing, if you will. As you say, Team Jordan are likely overworked, and I think your input would go a long way to ensure a stellar book. Keep in mind, Maria says that she does not read the books back-to-back anymore, which is a shame, because that is the way you really capture the nuances of what is going on, I believe. I know that when I read chapter 1 of TGS medio September, I did not react to the odd description of the Rebel Aes Sedai army, but I certainly did when I went on to read TGS after finishing CoT and KoD in preparation (and in this vein I hope Sanderson decides to do another full re-read before diving into AMoL. And perhaps he should take longer than three months to do it).

If you don't want to suggest yourselves, I would certainly be willing to do so!
