I realize that English spelling/pronunciation is horribly inconsistent, but RJ didn't need to do this in the names of people and places in WOT.

Unless you go through the pronuciation guide meticulously, you will mispronounce half the names in the books. The smart thing to do would have been to make the spelling of names phonetic.

Why the hell are Nynaeve, Egwene, Moiraine, Caihrien, aes sedai, etc spelled the way they are spelled? Just put them in a consistent form so their pronunciation is more obvious.

There is almost no rhyme or reason behind the proper pronunciation of many of RJ's names.

By the way, I agree with you about the language problem. It makes no sense. But it doesn't bother me as it would be impractical to have a realistic linguistic situation in WoT. I like having an old tongue and a common tongue, even though the way it is set up is just plain silly.
