Bah right back. Cannoli Send a noteboard - 04/09/2009 11:54:30 PM

1. She has never murdered anyone.
I think this is kind of cool... Rand, Mat and Perrin have killed dozens of people. She's the only one who would have an complete soul in Harry Potter - Rand could make about fifty Horcruxes by now.

The most inept magical training program in fantasy is where you had to go to make Egwene look good?

She's friends with Nynaeve, Moiraine, Elayne, Gawyn, Galad, Rand, Mat, Perrin, Amys, Bair, Melaine, Siuan and Leane. Not bad.

Accidents of geography for most of them, and the others are an inept, deposed politician and a trio of savage harridans who are presiding over the dissolution and destruction of the people and culture they hold the responsibility for preserving.

She always wanted to be an Aes Sedai - this is the least she could do. If she hadn't been this way, she wouldn't be fit for the shawl. Moiraine is going to be proud.

Yes, there's a great mentor. Moiraine's version of planning is basically, flip a coin to decide between "run away" or "hide." Not to mention, despite her continued choice of the Tower over people who she is supposed to be loyal to, she still violates Tower principles and standards more than Nynaeve who dislikes the Tower and is only doing her part to earn their rather superfluous training.

Huh... I recall her rejecting Rand. He was devastated. For a minute. Then he started hitting on Elayne in the same chapter.

Well, I'd have to go along with the guy who knows her best and trusts her least.

Wow, this is so untrue... she's incredibly skilled with the One Power. She's one of the few people who has really honed her Talents. The others mess around, but she took her money and made it into millions. It requires effort of course, or how else would she improve??

She has honed her talents and done nothing with them, while the others are too busy doing real deeds that benefit a lot more of the world than a clique of wealthy and powerful women, to waste time fine tuning their tools.

Amyrlin Seat and discoverer of immense OP achievements lost for 3,000 years. She's a legend already.

She discovered nothing that had not been already discovered by others, or without the aid that was provided to her by her superior friends.

Second only to Rand, she has been harmed by Lanfear, Aran'gar and Aginor - and hunted by many others. She's a major threat to the Shadow. They even discuss her in their meetings.

She has NEVER been hunted by the Forsaken, and seldom harmed, except because of her peripheral connection to people who were a serious threat to them. Nynaeve and Rand are threats to the Forsaken. Egwene is swatted in passing because she was talking with or is mistaken for an associate of Rand or Nynaeve. They discuss her in their meetings because her course of action as a leader is vital to the plans of the Shadow. Without Egwene, they would not be able to achieve their own plans! Her capture is a major blow the Shadow's cause, and they only back off plans to rescue her when they find out her new plan helps them just as well. WELL DONE, EGWENE!

She tried to fight Lanfear and Aginor to save her friends. She wanted to go help fight Rahvin but was mortally wounded from a previous battle.

Look up the word "mortally" sometime. Since she did not die, and received no extraordinary medical attention, she was not mortally wounded by any stretch of the imagination. There is no proof that saving her friends was her motivation, and there is just as much evidence for her arrogance and foolhardiness as for any altruism on her part. She once again proves herself to be useless soldier, because she can't follow orders or do the smart thing in a fight.

She helped Rand defeat Couladin despite Moiraine's ire. She faced Gawyn about his mother knowing that she might lose him - and yet she still defended Rand.

She had her dream telling her that she would bond him - she did not run any risks with Gawyn. Even if he got really annoyed at her, she knew she'd have plenty of access to him to get back on his good side, and she had already had proof of his feelings before she had to lay anything on the line. And she promptly made up her mind to betray his trust. If she had NOT defended Rand that would have been one more wrong and evil thing for her. Aran'gar felt capable of slaughtering the entire rebellion, but she refrained. I guess that since she refrained from an even greater evil than Egwene did with Gawyn, that makes Aran'gar an even greater hero?

Didn't kill Renna despite being her tormented slave for weeks. Allowed Moghedien to live. Didn't fight back when the Accepted tripped her in the dinner hall.

She knew her ass would be grass for an Aes Sedai lawn mower if she did fight back, she allowed Moghedian not only to live, but to escape and do mor evil, and it was Nynaeve's choice not to kill Renna, because Egwene was an incompetant wreck at that point. Even if we stipulate that she spared Renna, how about her decision to throw fireballs at some anonymous Seanchan while leaving, when she lacked the guts to kill the one who actually did something to her that would mitigate her killing in some small way?
