I’m a Chelsea fan. Dodge. - 25/04/2004 06:05:18 PM

So I’ll stick up for my side.

Chelsea have spent, approximately, £125 Million on around 12 new players.

Glen Johnson: £6m
Wayne Bridge: £7m
Damien Duff: £17m
Geremi: £7m
Juan Sebastian Veron: £15m
Joe Cole: £6.6m
Adrian Mutu £15.8m
Alexei Smertin: £3.45m
Hernan Crespo: £16.8m
Neil Sullivan: £500,000
Claude Makelele: £16m
Scott Parker: £10m

Total to date: £121 million.

However, what everyone seems to forget is that Mancheser United spent simply *ridiculous* amounts of money on Veron (£28.1m), Van Nistelroy (£19m), Rio Ferdinand (£30) and Ronaldo (£12.24m).

I mean, that’s £89.34 m on just 4 players.

Very, very good point. I don't think they will spend anywhere near as much money but then again if they get a new manager possibly.

Have you heard all the latest talk of Chelsea bidding for Beckham and Ronaldo? That ain't gonna' be cheap...

I have to say I think Chelsea has been appallingly run this season. Not just the Ranieri situation (who goes up in my estimation weekly), but they have handled players poorly too (Lampard at the moment).

Word on Lampard; he's our best player. In fact, I consider our "main" players to be Lampard and Terry - both English.

I can see quite a few players leaving. Ambrosio, Melchiot, Babyaro, Huth, Gudjohnson, Gronkjear - none of them are good enough to be in that squad.

Yep.

Also add: Petit, Geremi, and Jimmy.
