Really? *Veiled spoilers, but enough not to read pre-AFFC*

I didn't care that much for any of the characters that died, except maybe Stoneheart. The first (died in aGoT) was OK, but his time had passed. The Wedding guest was OK, and getting more interesting but was hardly a favourite of mine. Who else is actually dead? A few middle ranked characters who had promise. I can only think of the 3 above plus maybe 3 other middle characters who are definitely dead, and one of the three above is only sort of dead.
And, showing how our own PoVs can differ, I think new Jaime is more interesting than the SoS one. He still has all of old Jaime's aspects but some new elements too.

Does the Devil ever struggle to be good again, or if so is he not a devil?
What difference does it make after all? Anonymity in the world of men is better than fame in heaven, for what's heaven? What's Earth? All in the mind.

So... A Game of Thrones

'Game' was good. The rest go downhill fast, though.

If you keep up the 15-year delay, you may not have to wait to read the fifth book...

Just to ask.....are the first 3 books essentially a trilogy?
