Just finished reading Stormed Fortress, after waiting YEARS for it to come out in the US

I love the series so much that waiting so long does not even irk me, like it does with ASoIaF.
I love all the characters in the book, but hate how Arithon is such a pu**y! Seriously, he has so much power but none of the responsibility. He whines about wanting to be free of politics and his crown heirdom, but the fact is, people need him to get off his pacifistic arse and go kick the daylights out of the Light's forces.
I love the juxtaposition of Light and Darkness in the book; how the Light is a force of fanatical tyranny (-slash- township) and the Shadow are the clans of the free wilds. The Bedoin religion concerning Mother Dark amused me, as it made me think of Malazan. Even there, Father Light and his Liosan are "evil" and Mother Dark's Andii are "Good".
The only flaw that I can see in the TWoLaS series is the overly-flowery writing. It can really bog down the plot. It's enough to set my allergies off! It wasn't like that in the Cycle of Fire trilogy, another series by Wurts which I LOVED.
Anyways, care to place bets on how long until Initiate's Trial is released? I'm thinking maybe before A Dance with Dragons! hah
P.S. Just noticed something. The universe Wurts built is VERY similar to Sanderson's. Both have humans in various "colony planets", each with its own system of magic that is rooted in similar ideologies. Mistwraith ... Mistborn (spirit) haha.

See, I like these books, but looking back at it, the first book seems... underdeveloped.
