Dubliners and A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man

Snooty intellectual types are forever bringing up Ulysses. I, for all of the wrong reasons, thought I'd take a look to see what the fuss was about. Now, having heard of it as a difficult read, I wisely? decided to try the aforementioned works to get a feel for his style and maybe get in the right gear. After doing so, I concluded that Joyce wrote for his peers, meaning intellectual, expatriate Micks who also happen to be Catholic apostates. In other words, he had absolutely nothing to say to me. And no, I never did try Ulysses.

Canterbury Tales by Chaucer. In Ye Olde English, it's harder to translate than ancient Greek. *NM*

The Canterbury Tales are not Old English. They are Middle English.
