If it makes you feel better, I told Ballantine that I would announce the review whether it was a positive review or a negative one. The PR people I worked with had no problems with that... very confident in this book.

Still. There is something jarring in this. It may just be my brain and its mysterious ways, but I cannot help feeling that something is off when gifts result in more prominent attention.
