I read a book for school once called Trout Fishing in America Darth_Katie Send a noteboard - 12/08/2010 06:16:51 PM
I'm in the midst of a semi-official bet made a few days ago on Twitter. I am currently reading a sh?jo manga, Bisco Hatori's Ouran High School Host Club, then I'm to read/review a yaoi, and finally review a Stanek novel, just to prove that I can bring myself to review anything under the sun (surprised I wasn't asked to review hentai, come and think of it).

Yeah, you have fun with that.

So yeah, there'll be some strange reviews on the OF Blog in the coming days (and here, if I think it'll be amusing to some here). Which leads me to the survey part: What are some of the strangest reads that you have ever undertaken, either of your own volition or to fulfill a bet/challenge?

Trout Fishing in America by Richard Brautigan for a class called Point of View in the Novel. It was a weird, weird book. It was all abstract with no real plot or even logical train of events. It's a critique of American society that this guy wrote in the 60s, and I got in an argument with my professor over whether it was an effective statement of protest or not. Anyway, I never ever would have read it otherwise ... I'm glad I'm not a hippie.
