Perhaps it's just because I'm used to poor character development (this is the fantasy genre, after all), but the "flaws" don't really turn me off to the book, which sounds novel and interesting.
I wasn't criticizing the characterization as much some instances of infodumping that weakened the narrative flow, but if you can read Portuguese (which I think you can), I can provide you with an online retailer URL where you can get the book for maybe $30 total (counting shipping).
