Ezekiel can be interesting reading, to say the least Larry Send a noteboard - 28/08/2010 07:03:44 AM
5. Absalom/Solomon/Tamar

That could be fun. I don't know why exactly - I think I blame my children's bible and the drawings in it - but I've always found Absalom's story and the way he dies particularly sad. Of course, it's always sad when a father has to wage war on his son...
6. Judith and Holofernes

This too.
7. Samson

But of course.
8. Jonah

I have a soft spot for Jonah too. Firstly because it's the only one I've actually read in Hebrew (the only one short enough to make that doable in the short class we had), and secondly because there's something very recognizable about his chagrined jealousy. A far cry from the likes of Elijah, considering themselves more than human and actually getting God to back them up on that.
9. Jesus

That just sounds controversial.
Shame there's no bald man conjuring bears to attack kids story, or the donkey-genitaled men with horse emissions.

Er, I don't know that last one, nor do I want to by the sound of it. But yes, a crying shame they missed out on the bear story.

I'll read the others later, but halfway through the first and I got a bit bored, to be honest. Just not in the mood right now, I suppose.
