Is it your impression that I have been elsewhere?
The relative being in comparison to your proselytizing the Gospel of Harkaway I can see you making this visible on your Norwegian site, getting people who don't visit here (or at least, not often) voting, if it'd mean Harkaway's book being a finalist Oh, and Last Samurai, if it were eligible as well
I find I am a little offended at your attempt to present me as a one-track plugger. I have not mentioned Harkaway in months, except to nominate him. I have, however, reviewed a series of other books, not to mentioned participated in a number of discussions on this site.
I know you have. I just happen to remember the Harkaway more because it was more than just a single moment or two. You don't get that enthusiastic about most books here
As for the Norwegian site: I like to keep them separate from this site. I see no point in people coming to vote only, if they do not participate at the site at other times, and I don't want them to do that -- it is not a mass blog, but a collection of people I know. I would certainly not do it to sway the voting one way or another.
Well, you could do it like I did with the OF Blog (which I had already cleared, well, to an extent) and just ask them who'd they select in a few categories, collect them, and list them as a comparison. That way the fun is shared without it swaying votes; as Paul noted, if the comments on the OF Blog had been added, it would have shifted most of the categories.
And the purpose of this would have been...?
That was the main purpose. The secondary purpose was to remind the blog's viewership that this site exists.
I am not curious about their votes for books I have not read, and which they have not either. It is different from the OF blog because that one is centered around fantasy writing. Ours is not. There is no particular interest in the genre there. Except among the people who are also already here.
It's a cultural-literary site that does concentrate a slight bit more on cross-genre, dark, "weird" fictions. And it's strange you think the discussions here aren't mostly around fantasies. You can put lipstick on a pig, but...
...
I never claimed the discussions here are not mostly on fantasy fiction. I am saying the Norwegian site isn't.
Seriously. Please read what I say. You keep doing this.
