Just finished Negarestani's Cyclonopedia (Edit) Larry Send a noteboard - 14/09/2010 12:16:39 PM
I don't want to read something really crappy, like, say, Goodkind, but I'm willing to consider reading something well-written in virtually any genre.

John Crowley, The Solitudes

John Gardner, Grendel

Thomas Ligotti, Songs of a Dead Dreamer

Michal Ajvaz, The Golden Age, The Other City

Elizabeth Hand, Generation Loss

Shirley Jackson, The Haunting of Hill House

Dino Buzzati, The Tartar Steppe, Poem Strip

And I've been hearing that Reza Negarestani's Cyclonopedia: Complicity with Anonymous Materials is a mindfuck of a novel. I'm only on the first chapter, though. Promising.

This might be fucked up in such a glorious way that hasn't been seen since Illuminati! was released.

The above statement stands. You will either enjoy this greatly or loathe it like you've never loathed a book before. I think the former is more likely than the either.
Illusions fall like the husk of a fruit, one after another, and the fruit is experience. - Narrator, Sylvie
