Let's see...Sharyn McCrumb should definitely be on this list. Bimbos of the Death Sun is a cult classic, and should practically be required reading for any fan of fantasy or sci-fi.
Morgan Llywelyn might be the author who first got me hooked on ancient historical fiction. Druids is still one of my favorites.
Joan Hess is my favorite author currently writing mysteries, and her character of Claire Malloy is one of my top three title detectives.
Claire Bell's Ratha series was my second favorite anthropomorphic fantasy series when I was younger. I heard that she has recently written another one, over a decade after the series ended, but I have not gotten a chance to read it yet.
