It's kind of odd how Rowling subtly introduces Harry's developing feelings for Ginny at the beginning of the Potions scene, then beats the reader around the head with it at the end. Couldn't she have waited a bit longer with explaining the subtle hint - you know, until they're actually dating?

Kind of hard to see how Hermione's description refers to Ron, presumably it was only the part she omitted that would've made it clear. Her - somewhat exaggerated, I thought - reaction to Harry having said she was the best in the year annoys Ron, but it's not clear if he really realizes why, himself. We've been over this before in book four - it really is difficult to see to what extent Ron consciously has feelings for Hermione already.

As for Malfoy and Pansy, it seems rather one-sided to me, though then again he does put his head in her lap. Still, I have the feeling he's just exploiting the fact she's obviously in love with him - has been for ages, one presumes - and not really reciprocating much. Too self-important, I guess.
