I don't think they correspond to any actual Insect.
There are worm-monsters in the Shift, but not invading the Fourlands.
Ah yes, there was some species, these worm-monsters I think, which destroy any planet they come to. Someone shows Comet a world after it was destroyed by them, and warns him to be careful.
Btw, have you read all the books in this series?
Isn't everyone in WoT re-born?
