I didn't mind The Importance of Being Earnest too much

I've never read The Picture of Dorian Gray, but I loved The Importance of Being Earnest.
And I hated Frankenstein.
And I hated Frankenstein.
I think Wilde was much more suited to plays than novels. More than anything I find Dorian Gray to be a chore when I try to read it. I'm going to persevere and finish it, but if what I've read so far is any indication, I'm not going to enjoy doing so.
As far as Frankenstein goes.....I absolutely adore that book. It's one of my favorite old books out there. In fact as far as older books go, it's probably number three on my list of favorites after Heart of Darkness (not that old, but old enough for me to call it oldish) and Beowulf. (I'm sure if I thought on it longer it would be bumped down a little further, but I do think quite highly of it.)
A few thoughts on my Classic challenge book. Well, books, as it turns out.

There's really only one high fantasy classic, no? Or two, if you count the Silm separately. *NM*

You can't love all of the classics, but it's not like it's a genre of its own that you can dislike.

The Swiss Family Robinson is hardly a "classic", unless by "classic" you mean "old".

A lot of "classics" need proper context to be appreciated

The big problem with Dracula is that it's an epistolary novel.
