Hey Rafonauts

A few questions for you on your reading habits.

1 - Approximately how many books do you read in the average month?

It depends on the length of the book? Maybe 5, or 4? It also depends on what I'm doing. When I was studying for exams I went two months with reading nothing but textbooks.

2 - Of those books, what ratio would be Sci-fi/Fantasy compared with Not SFF? (Ie SFF:NotSFF)

I dunno, 3:1 maybe?

3 - (with credit to Tom) Which of these do you read:

Fantasy

Yes.

Sci-fi

Yes.

Historical Fiction

Yup.

Classics

Sometimes.

Thrillers

What counts as a thriller?

Crime/Mystery

Sometimes.

Other fiction stuff (like Ian McEwan, Kazuo Ishiguro etc)

Sometimes.

Non-fiction

Physics books, ftw.

Graphic Novels

Not really.

Manga

Not really.

Plays

Yes.

Poetry

Not really. I've only found one poet I really like.

Short stories (please specify what genre they might belong to)

Not often.

Magazines

Not anymore. Maybe in the future, if I find a good physics magazine.

Newspapers

I did in America. Not here.

4 - Do you read every day?

More or less.

5 - Do you find it easy to discuss the books you read?

Not really. I always feel stupid.

5a - If not, do you know what might make it easier?

Not really. Maybe someone else reading the same book at the same time as me. Although, this is not very realistic.

6 - Do you buy books as soon as they are published?

No. I usually wait for paperback.

7 - What do you like to see in reviews?

I honestly don't read reviews all that often. I usually choose books on whether their titles look good, or if friends have recommended them to me.

Thanks.
