There is a great albeit biased as hell comic which depicts both authors' visions of the future with the intent of showing that Huxley was right (linked below).

I think that's largely true, but I think one of the reasons Orwell's prophecy never came to pass is because he was so successful in stymying it. "Big Brother," after all, has inextricably worked its way into the public's lexicon.
