However, from book 3 on it seems to pick up and be a bit more interconnected and less episodic than the first 2-3 books.

Take that with a grain of salt though, I'm only 61% (according to my kindle) of the way through Book 8: Proven Guilty, so I don't know if the entire series continues to become less episodic or falls back to the earlier formula. I think it a fairly safe bet to say that it doesn't, but stranger things have happened.

I just started reading this the weekend before Thanksgiving. It's a bit more Dick Tracey and bit less Harry Potter than I was thinking it would be, but I'm really glad my friend kept badgering me to read it.


That's cool - I'm glad it becomes a bit more complex after the first few. They were fun in their own right, but I'm just now getting to meet the dreaded White Council in book 4, who is responding to Harry's actions from book 3. I like it.
