There's a picture of me at 3-4 years, laying on my back, pretending to read a picture book. My parents read to me before bed. I always demanded a bedtime story. Then one day, they said, "Read for yourself, we won't anymore," so I started reading. I don't even remember learning to read, it must have happened quickly. Probably my grandparents taught me over a summer.
