Several come to mind. Panorphaeon Send a noteboard - 27/12/2011 10:26:53 PM
For the first half of the year I read a lot of history, and of that mix the best by far was Comanche Empire. Along slightly different lines, Son of the Morning Star was a really amazing read, unlike anything else on history that I have encountered. Really glad I picked up that one.

Along other lines, I finally got around to reading The Grapes of Wrath. I've been into Steinbeck for a while and I really loved this book. For other fiction, I read a couple Graham Greene novels again this year and love-love-LOVED The Comedians. That man...

Other titles that stand out:
Out of Sheer Rage
Empire of the Summer Moon
Planet News
Carbine and Lance
On the Nature of the Psyche

I had some disappointing reads this year, but the only one worth mentioning is The Prairie, my unfinished attempt at entering the world of JF Cooper.
