2011 was pretty reading filled. I highly doubt anyone will care but here is what I read.

January
Kidnapped by Robert Louis Stevenson-2 Stars
Ugh. This book was incredibly boring and completely lame. Review posted here.

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead by Tom Soppart-4 Stars
Very funny. I had also just read Hamlet a month before, so everything was fresh in my mind making this more funny.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland: Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carol-4 Stars.
I had wanted to read this for a very long time and finally decided to pick it up. I think the best word to describe it is weird. But certainly enjoyable. Although Through the Looking Glass was more weird and less enjoyable.

Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe- 5 Stars
A great book. A homework assignment I thoroughly enjoyed.

The Swiss Family Robinson by Johann Wyss- 1 Star
This book was honestly terrible. I can't believe it was ever popular and considered by Penguin a classic. I loved the movie when I was younger so thought the book would be enjoyable. But the father who narrated the story was invincible, knowing every animal and plant they encountered by name and all traits therein. The children were also lamely characterized. One was the smart one, one was the strong one, and there was the little one top be funny. The island also had every type of plant and animal imaginable that the family managed to capture and tame or put to used in some way. Nothing went wrong!I honestly had trouble finishing it.

February
House of Chains by Steven Erikson-5 Stars
Great author, great series. I liked this one in particular, it didn't slow down as much in the middle.

The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne- 3 Stars
I found it boring, the symbolism heavy handed, but overall it deserves the popularity it has.

March
I am Number Four by Pitticus Lore-2 Stars
Given to me by a friend. Written poorly, the plot lame and overdone it was pretty bad. But I managed to mindlessly follow along and got some enjoyment out of it.

Night by Elie Weasel-4 stars
Depressingly wonderful. By that I mean terrible subject, depressing story, wonderful book.

Midnight Tides by Steven Erikson- 4 Stars
This was as well written, thought out, and epic as the rest but I found it slow.

April
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald-4 Stars
Very nice. Totally enjoyable. My mom hates this book however, thinks we are all brainwashed by the "Great" in the title. What do you guys think?

When the Gods Slept by Alan Cole-4 Stars
After two busy months where nothing other than textbooks was read, I wanted to ease back into fantasy, warm up so to speak, before returning to Erikson. This book fit the bill, simple, singular story line and basic characters.

The Bonehunters by Steven Erikson-5 Stars
While this did slow down a great amount in the middle, Erikson never fails to deliver an astounding book. Great.

Wolves of the Gods by Alan Cole-3 Stars
Eh. this one was much worse than the first of the series.I don't know...the author seemed lost.

The Secret of the Dragon by Weis and Hickman-4 Stars
The second in the series of a book I read a few years back I believe. Again, simple story line, nothing much to it and I enjoyed it. Hey it was July. I was on vacation. I didn't want to think at all.

The Golden Shrine by Harry Turtledove-3 Stars
I enjoyed the second book of the series(Thinking it was the first) so felt required to read the third. It was boring, the plot line repetitive...In Danger! Safe. In Danger! Safe... And the ending quite disappointing.

August
Stalking Darkness-Lynn Flewelling-4 stars
Once I got used to the two main characters being gay I found this book very enjoyable. Well I think so. I don't remember reading this...I'm just trusting my notes here.

The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss-4 Stars.
My brother hated this book. So, of course, I had to read it. It wasn't all that bad. I mean it wasn't really the best, the main character was invincible, but it was fine. I wrote a review for my school paper and I believe I posted that here.

Profiles in Courage by John F. Kennedy-5 Stars
Politics usually bore me. This book made them interesting, Kennedy choosing the bravest actions by senators in American history. I recommend this book to any American History students(That's why I read it.)

Brave New World by Aldous Huxley-3 Stars
...Weird...but much better than 1984 in my opinion.

September
Traitor's Moon by Lynn Flewelling-4 Stars
Very nice. Although the names of all those people and factions were confusing.

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury- 4 stars
Pretty good. Although dull in some parts.

October
The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein-5 Stars
Totally out of genre. I had to review it for the school paper because it was the book club selection but it was, in all honesty, very good. Review posted here.

The Gods Awaken by Allan Cole-2 Stars
Lame.

The Guns of the South by Harry Turtledove-4 Stars
The idea behind this book is pretty weak, and the middle was really slow, but it was still a very enjoyable book. I wrote a review for the paper but I can't remember if I posted it here.

November
A Separate Peace by John Knowles-3 Stars
Eh. Nothing much to say about this book. Pretty basic.

December
Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter by Tom Franklin-5 Stars
Again, I read this through the school paper and again, enjoyed it. It had a little bit of everything.

Reaper's Gale by Steven Erikson-5 Stars
Again. Awesome. Although I must admit that the Karsa-Emperor-Icarium whole bit at the end was a tad disappointing.

Keeping Time by Stacey McGlynn(my mom)-1000000 Stars.
Okay so this really isn't my style, no dragons or battles. still though, it was good. She has an interesting writing style my mother does. Everyone. Buy lots and lots of copies! You know...only 12 months till Christmas! Start shopping early!
Oh and my username is what it is because I couldn't think of a better username...I'm not trying to be obnoxious.

Cancer never fights fair. Rest in peace Mrs. Cohen, you will be missed.
