A great book. A homework assignment I thoroughly enjoyed.
Read this in high school. Don't remember much about this- or many other books I read in high school, for that matter- except that it was depressing.
Night by Elie Weasel-4 stars
Depressingly wonderful. By that I mean terrible subject, depressing story, wonderful book.
Read this one in high school too. Got a little bit more out of it than the Achebe.
Stalking Darkness-Lynn Flewelling-4 stars
Once I got used to the two main characters being gay I found this book very enjoyable. Well I think so. I don't remember reading this...I'm just trusting my notes here.
This sort of makes me laugh. This was one of the best written of the Nightrunner series and really carried through with the promise of the earlier Bone Doll's Twin. I discovered it in 2010 and Flewelling is one of my favorite authors now.
Brave New World by Aldous Huxley-3 Stars
...Weird...but much better than 1984 in my opinion.
I've heard otherwise from most people, actually, though I haven't read BNW. I did read an anthology called Brave New Worlds though.
Traitor's Moon by Lynn Flewelling-4 Stars
Very nice. Although the names of all those people and factions were confusing.
You should've read Hart's Hope by Orson Scott Card. One of his main characters was named Enziquelvinisensenee Evelvenin. Srsly. o.O
Keeping Time by Stacey McGlynn(my mom)-1000000 Stars.
Okay so this really isn't my style, no dragons or battles. still though, it was good. She has an interesting writing style my mother does. Everyone. Buy lots and lots of copies! You know...only 12 months till Christmas! Start shopping early!
