Sounds like it would make uncomfortable reading for some. What's your take on that?

I think so, yeah. The most uncomfortable part of it for me was the not knowing if these prisoners were truly guilty of anything. Like I said, I hope to see an answer to that question in later books. I'd say the worst part was the woman being raped with the handle of the whip used to beat her bloody. This was done by the protagonist of the story, mind you. :P
I shall send you a list of the books when I've rediscovered where I put them. :P
